Calvary Baptist Church
A Legacy of Faith and Fellowship

Calvary Baptist Church was organized in 1909 through the vision and spiritual leadership of the devoted ministers of the Warren County Baptist Association. These early pioneers of the faith saw the need for a place of worship where the growing community could gather, serve, and grow in Christ. With hearts united in purpose and prayer, they laid the foundation—both spiritual and physical—for what would become a beacon of light in the community for generations to come.

In 1923, under the dynamic leadership of Pastor L. H. Winn, B.D., the original church building was erected. This house of worship quickly became a cornerstone of spiritual life, offering a sanctuary for prayer, teaching, and fellowship. Pastor Winn's dedication and guidance helped to firmly establish Calvary as a place where lives were transformed and God's Word was boldly proclaimed.

Over the decades, Calvary continued to grow in both faith and numbers. A major milestone was reached on September 30, 1973, when the church was completely reconstructed and joyfully rededicated under the inspirational leadership of Pastor R. T. Strong, B.S., B.Th. Pastor Strong served faithfully for over 50 years, shepherding the congregation through seasons of change and blessing. Under his steady hand and spiritual wisdom, Calvary expanded its ministries, deepened its community involvement, and nurtured a multigenerational family of believers. His legacy continues to echo through the lives he touched and the foundation he helped strengthen.

In August of 2011, Calvary entered a new chapter as Pastor Joe N. Mosley, D.Th., was prayerfully elected to lead the congregation. With a passion for discipleship, community outreach, and the uncompromised preaching of the Gospel, Dr. Mosley has carried forward the vision of those who came before him. Under his leadership, Calvary remains a vibrant, welcoming, and spirit-filled church—committed to its mission of lifting up the name of Jesus, equipping believers, and reaching the world with love and truth.

As Calvary Baptist Church continues into the future, it stands as a living testimony to more than a century of unwavering faith, compassionate leadership, and the enduring power of God's grace.
